Customers with Version 1 Hardware

How do I know what hardware version I have?
You have Version 1 hardware if there is no date on the side of the converter hardware.  If your unit has a serial number, the 10 digit serial number will start with “000”.  The label on the converter could be gold, red, blue, or black.

Why should I upgrade?
If you want to leverage the maximum number of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and real time parameters that are available on your vehicle for the OBDII CAN protocol, you should purchase the latest hardware and software.

How do I upgrade?
You must purchase ATU or ATS if you want generic parameters for $199.95.  

You must purchase ATENDOM if you want enhanced parameters for $249.95. 

Customers with Version 2 Hardware

How do I know what hardware version I have?
You have Version 2 hardware if there is a date on the side of the converter hardware that is after July 7, 2002.  All units will have a 10 digit serial number that starts with “00146”.

If you want to leverage the maximum number of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and real time parameters that are available on your vehicle for the OBDII CAN protocol, you should upgrade to AutoTap Diagnostic V3.0 software.

You have Version 3 hardware if the converter is red.  Also, the OBDII interface is built into the converter.
